I lived in Barcelona for 6 years and while I was there I spent a lot of time in museums, art galleries and fairs. The art scene in Barcelona is amazing and there is so much to see, but what I found particularly inspiring about Alicia Marsans and Georg Massanes was their talent for capturing the light of Catalunya. When viewing their work, you feel like you are watching the final rays of the setting sun or in the wheat fields at dawn as the light filled the plains with warmth. This light is so distinctive to Catalunya and every time I see one of their paintings its brings me back to that very special place where both artists live. Alicia and Georg both have a way of using color and blending realism with abstraction which makes their work crisp and ultra modern.
